Our Voyage to Cozumel

Our second cruise was a getaway for my husband and me. We sailed from the Port of Miami to Cozumel, Mexico by way of Key West, Fla. This was by far the best cruise for me to date. We had a balcony to enjoy the views on this cruise. Although there were food choices that came with the price of the cruise, we chose to dine in one of the restaurants. Dining in the main dining room is very exciting and entertaining – a special experience. My husband was even able to take advantage of Karaoke, which he loves.
Some of the excursions that we took advantage of were snorkeling, Buggy ride, and tour of tour of a Mayan village where I helped cook an authentic meal prepared by one of the locals. The lady of the house showed us the ceremonial “Day of the Dead” (Dia de Muertos) shrine. We went inside one of the oldest churches, that is still being used, in the area. We had a tour guide that we followed in our own little red buggy throughout Cozumel (glad my husband knows how to drive a stick shift). We ended with snorkeling and eating fish tacos. Although we don’t drink, we even toured a little factory that made Tequila.
